My name is Nathan Kuhlman, and I was born and raised in Minnesota. When I talk you can still hear my long “O’s” on a good day. I have have two incredibly smart and good-looking children (not that I’m partial) and two energetic Brittanys. If you were to find me on my day off you’d likely find me walking the dogs or at a local coffee shop reading a good book. I also like to play the piano, hit the gym, and cook new things. I am a proud Vikings fan and still hold out hope that one day they’ll actually win the Super bowl! One can dream, right?
My greatest passion is to see and be part of God’s transforming process in people as they are changed through the power of the Gospel of Christ. I am also passionate about missions and mentorship. There is nothing more humbling than helping others realize the mission field is something God has placed between our own two feet.
My role is that of pastor for an incredible church working hard to reach the next generation for Jesus. Along the way, through these passionate followers of Christ, I am constantly challenged to be a better pastor, father, and friend.
I’m a proud Army wife, stepmom to a precious son, full time grad student, chronic herbal tea drinker and unwavering optimist. I’m a lover of anything outdoors, any good book, and anything that includes my puppy, Milo. Originally from Florida I’ve never been more than 30 minutes from the ocean but I’m learning to love the land-locked mountains and this thing called snow. I was baptized, confirmed and married in a Lutheran church and coming to Redeemer feels like coming home… away from home. Though I consider myself a ‘forever student’ (one must never stop learning) I’m looking forward to earning my hood in December and adding some letters behind my name.
There are few things in life I care more deeply about than mentorship. I’ve been blessed with many opportunities to serve the youth internationally and reignite my passion often. My roles have varied from mentor to keynote speaker, from fundraiser to Board member, each filling a different place in my heart. I believe all children have a right to know their situations aren’t permanent, and often, it’s not their fault. I also love to write and travel. I have found that I learn more about myself through travel than anything else–plus, the food is the best.
I am excited to serve the community as the new office administrator here at Redeemer. I know I have big shoes to fill but am sure I can exceed expectations and help the church grow within its vision. I am proactive, organized and forward-thinking. I follow a moral compass and God’s word. I look forward to getting to know the family, community and all those I can be of service too. Stop in and say hi! I’m a people person!
